Cell Phone Radiation – Facts About Its Harmful Effects

Posted on 22nd January 2009 in Mobile Cell Phone, Technology

mobile-phone-radiation-danger1Cellular phones were first introduced in 1984. When cellular phones were discovered, the idea of cellular phone radiation was a non-subject. However, in the year 2008, it is very much an issue and a definite concern in the here and now and for our future. Some scientists have tried to reduce the risk of this problem by making headsets that would not have an antennae facing directly towards your head. However, once that was discovered, the new questions were raised as to cellphone headset radiation risks.

Wireless Technology Research

Over the past few years several study groups have reported that cell phone radiation is not dangerous and that we don’t need to worry about it. In particular, we don’t need to worry about it causing cancer. Some of them, in fact, have reported that the debate is over, and that cell phones are completely safe. As a result, most of the research on the topic has virtually ceased in the US. At the same time, however, Scientists and consumer groups have studied and tested many hands-free cellular phone sets, and it has increasingly shown that we cannot ignore the dangers.

The Study Found

The research team was headed by Dr. George Carlo. More than 200 doctors and researchers were involved in the WTR project. Based on the studies, Dr Carlo and the scientists concluded that cell phone radiation was harmful to the user. The studies found that :

  1. Radiation from the cell phone can cause DNA damage and impair he DNA repair process.
  2. The cell phones interfered with cardiac pacemakers.
  3. The radiation from the cell phone increases the risk of brain dysfunction, tumors, cancer, autism, attention deficit disorder and neurodegenerative disease.
  4. In children, the mobile phone radiation causes behavioral and psychological problems.

More Findings Against Cell Phones

More recently, a study conducted by Dariusz Leszczynski at the Finnish Radiation and Nuclear Safety Authority, Helsinki, concluded that cell phone radiation did affect cells in living humans. The study found that there is a strong possibility that mobile phone radiation changes the expression of some proteins in living cells in human beings. According to Leszczynski, the study has proven that our body does recognize the low-level of radiation emitted by cell phones and hence reacts to it.

More and more studies have shown that there is a very convincing link between non-ionizing radiation from the cell phone to various diseases like cancer, brain tumors, Alzheimer, Parkinson, fatigue and headache.

So, what can you do?

You have become accustomed to using your cell for everything from business to staying in touch with the people you love. You are not going to give it up very easily. On the other hand, you don’t want brain tumors either. Well, here are some tips you can use to protect yourself and your family.

  • Try using a hands free accessory.  While you can talk on the phone just like usual, you will not have the it too close to your body. It allows you the convenience of a cell phone but it reduces some of the risk of electromagnetic radiation and its effects.
  • Another thing that you can do is purchase a buffer that attaches to your cell phone. These are very helpful, and made out of all natural things. They pulse at the low level that electromagnetic radiation does, and the energy they put out helps neutralize the radiation.
  • Don’t allow children on the phone for more than a very short period of time. This will keep them from being exposed to electromagnetic radiation in large amounts or for longer periods of time. This may reduce their risks of developing brain tumors or other problems.
  • There is also a product that you can place in a room of your home which does the same thing as the attachment for the cell phone, however it works for all of the products that emit electromagnetic radiation. There is a certain amount of area that it covers as well.
